4 Essential Oils That Help With Anxiety

Aromatherapy is the practice of breathing in the scent of essential oils to improve health and overall well-being. Studies have shown that aromatherapy in coloration with deep breathing exercises can help you reduce stress and lower blood pressure.

Lavender is one of the most popular aromatherapy oils and one of my favorites. Lavender calms anxiety by impacting the limbic system, part of the brain that controls your emotions.

Chamomile is perfect for tea and for relaxing your mind. It is one of the most popular types of tea but did you know you can add it to your essential oil collection? Chamomile is well known for its relaxing and sedating properties and intoxicating scent.

Ylang Ylang:

If you have ever been inside an Aveda spa you know that Ylang ylang is one of their main ingredients to help their clients relax. Studies have shown that ylang ylang can help lower blood pressure and heart rate. This scent combined with lavender is a winning combination for relaxation.

Frankincense has a musky and sweet aroma. According to a 2008 study, the use of frankincense, lavender and bergamont improved anxiety and depression in people with terminal cancer.

There are many tools and techniques that can help aide you in managing your anxiety. Do your research and find the ones that work best for you.
